Alistair leads Odgers Berndtson’s Human Resources Practice in Australia, advising organisations on appointing Chief People & Culture Officers and CHROs who align leadership capability with business strategy. He is also a Principal in the firm's Consumer, Education and Professional Services Practices.

Across sectors, Alistair focuses on leadership assessment, CEO succession, executive capability building, and cultural transformation, ensuring organisations have the right leadership in place to sustain long-term success. A strong advocate for DEI in leadership, he helps organisations identify and develop diverse executive talent, recognising that inclusive leadership is a key driver of innovation and competitive advantage. Internally, Alistair plays an active role in “Unlimited at Odgers Berndtson”, the firm’s initiative to foster inclusive leadership.

Before joining Odgers Berndtson, Alistair led the Sydney office of a boutique executive search firm, overseeing executive assessment, talent strategy, and senior leadership appointments. Earlier, he spent a decade in higher education and research, including as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Oxford, gaining firsthand insight into academic leadership, institutional strategy, and governance.

Alistair holds undergraduate degrees in Classics and Law from the University of Melbourne, and a master’s and doctorate from the University of Oxford.
