Chile
Chile has been one of Latin America’s fastest-growing economies in recent decades. With a 19 million population, it is traditionally considered as a model in Latin America in terms of political and financial transparency.
The mining sector is one of the pillars of the Chilean economy, mainly due to large amounts of copper reserves, which make Chile the world's largest copper producer, responsible for over 1/3 of the global copper output. Also coal, lithium, iodine & nitrate are an important outcome of this industry.
Agriculture and livestock farming are main activities too, as well as products from forestry, logging and fishing. Chile is one of the biggest salmon and wine producers in the world and its location in the Southern Hemisphere allows the country to offer out-of-season fruits to countries of the Northern Hemisphere.
Chilean services consist mainly of maritime and financial services, tourism, engineering and construction services.
