Mentorship and sponsorship are different, but both can be beneficial in your career development, as Caroline Sands explores.
Caroline Sands, Head of our CIO & Technology Officers Practice in London, was featured by She Can Code, exploring the differences between mentorship and sponsorship and how they can both benefit tech career development.
Caroline discussed the positive impact that mentors and sponsors can have.
"They can act as role models, offer invaluable feedback, help navigate difficult conversations, provide access to a wider network, and ensure the right words are said to the right people.

Caroline describes a mentor as someone who provides guidance and advice to a mentee to help achieve their goals whereas a sponsor actively advocates for their 'protégé' within their own networks, helping to create opportunities to advance their career.
